Add comments and upload documents


Any user who has the rights to edit the record of the collaboration module will have an option to reply and if he wants to upload any document click on the paper clip icon, It will open up the browse window to select documents and also you can upload multiple documents in one shot.

Note: For the Non-admin user delete icon will be available only to the owner of the comments. For admin user it will be available for any comments.

User Mentions


In collaboration comments, the user will have an option to mention any user of the system. Start typing '@' and name of the user, It will auto-populate the name of the user's list and once you select the one it will be colored as grayed. As per the setting for the email notification. If an admin has selected that notification email will be sent when someone mentions the user. the mentioned user will receive an email notification.


How collaboartion helps you with SuiteCRM?

To get everyone on the same page. The most important thing you can do to collaborate is to get people to work with you on the same goals. For example, You are working on the specific project on the project module of SuiteCRM. Now you will have many resources who are working together to achieve a common goal. You will have a communication panel called "Collaboration" in the detail view of the project's detail view. Here you or any user of SuiteCRM who has access to the collaboration module can add comments as well as able to upload the documents that will be stored in the Notes module.

  • Install Collaboration add-on

Download Collaboration zip from your purchases.

Navigate to Admin > Module Loader and select the zip file. Follow the installation process.

  • Configure License and Validate it

Add License key and validate it.

Once it is succesfully validated, click on Continue button.

Now you will have a configuration screen to enable the collaboration chat for the specific module and email notification for the collaboration chat. Select module dropdown will have a list of all the built-in and custom module lists. Once you select and save the settings you will have a collaboration panel in the detail view of the selected module.

When someone mentions (typing '@' with username) any users, the mentioned users will receive a notification email with comment information and record link to his email address.

  • Send email to Assigned user when someone comments

When someone adds the comments into the record. The assigned user of the parent record will receive an email notification with a record link.

  • Send email to all participants when someone comments

When someone adds the comments into the record. All the participants on the current record conversation will receive an email notification with a record link.

  • Send email to all participants when Assigned user comments

When an Assigned user of parent record will add the comments into the record. All the participants of the current record conversation will receive an email notification with a record link.
