Docusign Integration
DocuSign Integration with SugarAI (formerly SugarCRM)
DocuSign Integration for SugarCRM connects your SugarCRM records with DocuSign so teams can prepare and send documents for electronic signature directly from the CRM. SugarCRM data can populate documents and templates, while signature status and completed files stay connected to the relevant CRM records.
Send contracts, NDAs, agreements, and quotes from Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Prospects, Users, Quotes, and Contracts. Recipients can sign online, including from a phone or tablet. Signed document fields can be returned to SugarCRM and attached to the corresponding records.
Track documents from the DS Activities dashlet and the DocuSign Chart dashlet as they move through Sent, Signed, Declined, or Void. For setup and day-to-day use, see the DocuSign for SugarCRM User Guide.
How DocuSign Works with SugarCRM
Select a SugarCRM Record
Open an Account, Contact, Lead, Prospect, User, Quote, or Contract to start the document from the record that owns the relationship.
Prepare and Send Documents
Use a DocuSign template or a SugarCRM PDF template, populate merge fields and roles from CRM data, then send the document for electronic signature.
Track Signature Status
Follow Sent, Signed, Declined, or Void updates in the DocuSign module, DS Activities dashlet, and DocuSign Chart dashlet as recipients view and sign.
Store Completed Documents
Signed files and returned fields are attached to the related SugarCRM records, including as Notes on the DocuSign envelope.
DocuSign Features for SugarCRM
Documents & PDF Templates for Signature
Send documents and PDFs from SugarCRM using DocuSign templates or SugarCRM PDF templates with signature placeholders. Merge fields and signer roles can be populated from CRM data before you send, so quotes, contracts, and agreements go out with the correct names, emails, and record details.
Real-Time Signature Updates
Monitor documents as they are viewed and signed. Activities are logged in SugarCRM and shown on the DS Activities dashlet. The DocuSign Chart dashlet shows status at a glance: Sent for signature, Signed, Declined, or Void—so sales and operations do not need to leave the CRM to check progress.
Supported SugarCRM Modules
Send documents from Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Prospects, Users, Quotes, and Contracts. Signed documents are saved as Notes attachments related to the DocuSign module and the originating CRM record, so the final file sits with the customer or sales record that started the request.
Track Documents
Follow each document from send through completion in the DocuSign module. Records are assigned to the CRM module the document was sent from (Account, Contact, Lead, Prospect, Quote, or Contract). Supported modules include a DocuSign subpanel for quick access to signing history.
Why DocuSign with SugarCRM?
Keep signature work next to the customer and sales records that created it. Teams spend less time copying data between SugarCRM and DocuSign, and managers can see document status without chasing email threads.
CRM Data and Field Mapping
Map SugarCRM fields to DocuSign fields so merge data can flow into the document and signed values can return to the CRM. Supported mapping fields and validation options are shown below.
